Pedro: No. I think he spoke in Italian, though.
Charlie: What makes you say that?
Pedro: He was using his hands a lot…
There is a pause.
Charlie: How could he be using his hands a lot when he’s speaking on the phone?
There is another pause. Pedro looks at Charlie. She looks at Pedro.
Pedro: You know what I mean…
Charlie smiles.

Pedro: The same man who approached Chan and me.
Charlie: Really? Where did he go?
Pedro: He first went into the station, then came back out again. Looked like he was waiting for someone.
Charlie: What makes you say that?
Pedro: He kept looking up and down the street. Then his cell phone rang. He seemed very agitated.
Charlie: Could you overhear anything?

Pedro: No, I’ve been here for a while, actually. Was waiting for you and Chan to arrive. But then the stranger stepped out of a cab.

No one is there. Charlie squints. She wonders out loud.
Charlie: Jeez…Am I hearing voices now?…
Voice: Charlie…
She turns around another 90 degrees and finally sees the source. She smiles.

Charlie looks at the train gaining speed as it exits the station. As she stands there, a voice behind her calls her name. She turns arounds.

She looks around and sees no one. Suddenly, from the corner of her eye, she sees two figures fleeting

towards the tracks. She follows them to the platform, just in time to see the train pull out of the station.

Charlie looks into the car. The keys are still in the ignition, but no sign of Chan. She grabs the key and runs into the station.

Ticketmistress (after a pause): Are you sure?…
Charlie: Hum…yes…no… actually, sorry… I’ll be right back.
Charlie goes back to the car. Chan is no longer in the car. Charlie looks around.
Charlie (half-whispering, half-shouting): Chan?!…
