December 30, 2008The door opens partly slowly. No one comes to it. Charlie looks at Pedro.
Charlie: What’s going on?…
Pedro: Stand back.
He pushes the door open and waits.
Act. II., Sc. 4: Knock knock

December 28, 2008Pedro: I don’t hear anything.
Charlie: That’s a good thing or a bad thing?
Pedro: I’m not sure…
Pedro looks around the clearing.
Charlie: Didn’t Pat say your contact was waiting for us?
Pedro: Yes, but…
Charlie: Well, let’s not make him wait.
She heads for the door.
Act. II., Sc. 4: Shhhh…
December 27, 2008Footsteps crunching the snow are heard approaching the cottage. Pedro and Charlie turn around the corner.
Pedro: Shhhh!
Charlie: I didn’t say anything…
Pedro: Shhh!
Charlie (whispering): Why?…
Act. II, Sc. 4: The cottage

December 25, 2008A clearing covered in snow. A small cottage stands quietly, smoke coming out of its chimney. No one is about.
Act. II., Sc. 3: All together
December 24, 2008Charlie looks at Pedro, then at Pat.
Pedro: It’s actually all tied together.
Charlie: Is it, now?…
Pat: You two should get going. I told him you would be there shortly.
Pedro: Yes. Thank you Pat. I owe you one.
Pat (with twinkling eyes): Yes…you do…. Charlie, it was a pleasure, if a brief one, to meet you. Take care of yourself.
Charlie (shaking the little man’s hand): Likewise, Pat. Thank you for your help.
Pedro: Ok. Let’s go.
They get on Pedro’s bike and ride off. Pat pulls out h cell phone, punches a few times.
Pat: Hey… they’re on their way..Yes, both of them. You still have the girl?… Good… Make sure she’s ready…
He hangs up.
Blackout.
Act. II., Sc. 3:…and no…

Pedro looks at Pat, but doesn’t respond.
Charlie (looking at the two men): I’m not sure I follow… I thought we were looking for a pendant?
Pedro: Yes…. and no…

Charlie: Hum…perhaps not…But it is the same book, though.
Pat: No, actually, it is THE book…
Pedro: So, that’s where it’s been?
Pat smiles at Pedro.
